Our birding programs are the cornerstone of the Caribbean Conservation Trust’s offerings. Designed for both avid birders and those new to the hobby, these tours provide an in-depth exploration of Cuba’s rich avifauna. Participants will have the opportunity to observe over 400 bird species, including 28 that are endemic to the island and many migratory species that use Cuba as a critical stopover.
Each tour is meticulously crafted to maximize birding opportunities while providing insights into the ecology, behavior, and conservation of these fascinating creatures. Led by seasoned ornithologists and local naturalists, our itineraries cover diverse habitats from the wetlands of the Zapata Peninsula to the karst landscapes of the Western Mountains. Our birding tours are not just about seeing rare and beautiful birds; they are a platform for education and conservation.
Each tour includes a component of informal bird surveys, where participants assist in recording bird sightings and behaviors. This data is invaluable for ongoing conservation efforts, helping to track the health and migration patterns of various species. By joining our birding programs, you are not only enriching your own knowledge but also contributing to the broader scientific understanding of Cuba’s bird populations.
